A new survey by Robert Half and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has revealed that flexible working is important for many female accountants.
The study found that two-thirds of female accountants said that the availability of flexible hours was important to their overall job satisfaction, Accountancy Magazine reports.
While three-quarters of employees said they were satisfied with the flexibility offered by their company, a further 13 per cent of respondents claimed to have turned jobs down because of an employer's flexible working provision.
Phil Sheridan, managing director of Robert Half, said: "In today's skilled candidate short market it is imperative that employers look carefully at the benefit packages they offer their staff, whether male or female, to ensure they do not lose this valuable talent pool."
In related news, a recent survey by Elements found that 72 per cent of the finance professionals surveyed felt that their jobs were becoming increasingly stressful.
