accounts by investing in good
accounting software.
According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the growing number of women setting up their own small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is "really good news" for the country.
A spokesperson for the organisation suggests that women are choosing to establish businesses in their 30s and 40s because it is "becoming something that is quite possible to do and it's a bit easier for women to balance work and life".
"Traditionally it has been a male-dominated thing to do and we're pleased that the situation appears to be changing quite fast now," he stated.
A report to the Small Business Service published in November 2006 indicated that 1,013,000 women (7.6 per cent of women in employment) were self-employed. Britain had an estimated 4.5 million businesses at the beginning of 2006.
A third of female entrepreneurs responding to a Cabinet Office survey wanted to see more encouragement from the government to help them start up new businesses.
Accounts software packages can provide female entrepreneurs with a simple, low cost and effective way to manage their
accounts and meet their financial responsibilities.
