Big Four firm Ernst & Young has appointed a new global
assurance leader.
Isabelle Santenac, former banking and capital markets leader for
the firm and joint leader of the Financial Services Office in
Paris, will begin her new role immediately.
Ms Santenac has been an employee of the firm since 2002 and said
she is "very honoured and proud" to have been appointed to the new
position.
John Murphy, global vice chair for the firm's advisory business
services, said that he was "delighted" with Ms Santenac's
appointment as her experience would benefit the company's assurance
global projects.
"In particular her focus on International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS) is important as, with moves towards adoption in
the US, IFRS looks like becoming the first truly global
accounting framework," he added.
In related news, Ernst & Young's head of renewable energy
Jonathon Johns welcomed the government's proposals to create an
extra 25 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity in the UK by
2020.
He explained that the contribution would not only help the country
reduce its
carbon footprint but also bring billions of
pounds of investment and thousands of jobs to the UK economy.
