Environmental business processes in focus at FSB event

A Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) conference in March will put the spotlight on environmental business processes.

The 33rd annual conference will concentrate on the relationship between small firms and the environment so that entrepreneurs will be in a better position to carry out business health checks and create new business plans.

Conference motions on the agenda include London's low-emission zone and energy prices, and Tom Delay, the chief executive of the Carbon Trust, will also be making a speech.

John Wright, FSB national chairman, said: "It is apt that we have [a] conference this year in London, considering it is the source of so many changes to hit small businesses over the past 12 months.

"We are also looking forward to welcoming the Carbon Trust to speak at conference, which will give us all a chance to think greener."

A recent FSB report revealed that 92 per cent of small businesses are both socially and environmentally responsible. The majority are already committed to reducing waste.
