The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has said it will be adding new sections to its technical questions website.

Additional sections are to include the topics of audit pension fund accounting and matters in relation to capital and housing.

Questions covering the Best Value Accounting Code of Practice and local authorities' Statement of Recommended Practice will also be included.

CIPFA's technical enquiry service manager Mark Clarke said: "As the internet is the first port of call for people looking to access information, our FAQs website has proved to be a popular and important service for CIPFA members."

Mr Clarke added that CIPFA was "pleased" to expand the site as a response to requests from members and that the institute hoped the venture would grow as more commonly asked questions were identified.

The website, which was launched in April, has currently received more than 1,000 hits per question since its release, according to Accountancy Magazine.
