In a bid to move its focus towards global employer relations, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Cima) has appointed a new member to its team.
Rick Sturge, who previously worked for consultancy firm Accenture, will join Cima as the director of employer and strategic development as part of the senior management team.
Mr Sturge is to take on the responsibilities of looking after the institute's employer development framework and the recruitment of students on both a national and international level.
Charles Tilley, the institute's chief executive, said: "I believe this restructuring of the organisation will enable us to deliver the next stage of Cima's development in what is an increasingly competitive global environment.
"This environment needs more focus on customer relationships globally, as well as clarity of purpose across the organisation."
He added that he hoped the restructuring would provide the institute with a platform from which to reach its goal of becoming employers' first choice.
Yesterday, the institute gave its approval to the latest narrative reporting guidelines released by the
Accounting Standards Board.
