The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Cima) has announced it plans to restructure to more fully cater for employer needs.
In addition, the institute hopes that by making some changes, it will also better meet the needs of its international customers.
A new director of employer and strategic development has been appointed who will work alongside the current international development director in a bid to ensure that a unified approach to the development of new practices is taken.
Cima's chief executive, Charles Tilley, said: "I believe this reorganisation represents an important change to enable us to deliver the next stage of Cima's development in what is an increasingly competitive global environment."
He added that a greater focus on customers was required within the institute, along with more "clarity of purpose".
Last November, eight members of Cima featured in the Times Power 100 list, comprised of bosses who run companies in the FTSE 350 who are considered to be Britain's most powerful business leaders.
