The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has confirmed that its syllabus is the most suitable for business following independent research.
A study conducted by the University of Bath School of Management comparing the syllabi of various accountancy qualifications across the globe concluded that CIMA's certificate was amongst the best in the world for its business focus.
"CIMA is the premier business qualification," said Si Hussain, chief executive of exam training provider BPP Professional Education.
The research looked into the strengths and weaknesses of a number of qualifications offered by bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the CPA in Australia.
Fabio Marchiori, development director at Unilever UK Central Resources' Finance Academy, said that the findings would be important to employers.
"The research is very comprehensive and has helped us to compare the specific skills developed within each qualification so we can make more informed training decisions," he stated.
