An online global career forum targeting women will take place later this month.

Sponsored by KPMG, the Financial Times and the Economist, the virtual forum will be aimed at professional women who are keen to take another challenging step up the career ladder.

Women who log on to the forum will also be able to take part in virtual sessions focussing on issues such as making it in business and dealing with headhunters.

In addition, they will be able to connect with other recruiters from a range of other organisations, including member firms from around the world.

Rachel Campbell, head of people management at KPMG in the UK, said: "Recruiting talented women is vital to the health and richness of any organisation."

Meanwhile, KPMG has indicated that it intends to cooperate with an Australia Securities and Investments Commission investigation into the collapse of property company Westpoint, for which it was acting as auditor, Australian newspaper The Age reports.
