Big 4 in women's top 50

News Article - 04 October 2007
Category: Business

The Big 4 accountancy firms have all been named as being among the top 50 organisations for which UK women would like to work.

Such companies, along with BDO Stoy Hayward, were cited by women responding to a poll organised by the Times and Aurora.

All of these firms featured in the list last year, suggesting that the major accountancy companies are continuing to have an allure for women in the workplace.

An article in the Times, penned by Aurora chief executive Glenda Stone and career editor Carol Lewis, claims that the face of modern business is changing, providing an increasingly fertile ground to nurture the talents of female workers.

"When women make diligent choices about where to work and choose to work for a leading organisation, their career is likely to flourish and their job satisfaction to be high," it states.

Sharon Fraser, the managing partner of talent at Deloitte, expressed her delight at the firm's recognition, Accountancy magazine reports.
