Accounts software can help entrepreneurs to cope with the realities of running a small business.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) believes that the desire to become your own boss can "blind people to some of the realities of how difficult it is to set up a business" and advises people to "really understand what youre getting into before you do it".

The FSB suggests that establishing a small business is a "kind of lifestyle choice" and warns that it is "a risk setting up a business, there is no doubt about that, but most peoples reasons for doing it are because they are really passionate about what they want to do".
National statistics published in August 2007 indicate that Britain had around 4.5 million businesses at the beginning of 2006, a 2.9 per cent increase on the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Justice, 2,962 petitions to wind up companies were issued during the fourth quarter of 2007, a ten per cent drop from the same quarter of 2006.
