Computer software can provide businesses with the answers to
questions on accountancy, an expert has said.
Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Centre director Henry
Reeves has told the Daily News Record that accounting software can
now give businesses the advice until recently only available from a
human accountant.
Accounting software has also become commonplace in small business,
occupying 75 per cent of the market, he told the website.
Mr Reeves said that the software is usually "relatively easy to
use" and with training can help users to get "through the learning
curve".
Given that "we live in an information age", Mr Reeves added: "The
business with accurate and timely information about [its
operations] has a built-in competitive advantage."
Accounting software can improve the way businesses manage their
accountants by generating invoices, calculating VAT and handling
the payroll, according to Personal Computer World's Alan Stevens,
hatPC? reports.
However, he added: "It's always worth asking your accountant for
advice on what to by, especially if you want to send data to
them."
