Accountants launch reporting survey

News Article - 05 June 2007
Category:

Accountancy organisations are teaming up with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants to launch a study into the financial reporting supply chain.

Members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) will work with associate groups as part of the survey, which is calling upon users of financial reports to fill out the questionnaire so that the industry can establish and analyse current practice.

Investors, auditors, standard setters, regulators and academics are all being invited to fill out the survey and provide information which could help strengthen the process of financial reporting.

IFAC then plans to use the findings to analyse current practices and offer recommendations on how financial reporting can be improved.

Respondents will be asked to complete questions relating to how they feel corporate governance in their countries has progressed in recent years and how they think it could be enhanced, in addition to how they feel about the audit process in their relative nations.
