Accountants invited to view XBRL webcast

Accountancy and finance professionals are being invited to join experts within the XBRL field in a webcast.

Conference organiser Foreword Financial is urging financiers to get involved in the event, which will involve discussion between a group of panellists including the US president and chief executive officer of XBRL, Mark Bolgiano.

Among the panellists for the April 19th event will also be the founding chairman of XBRL International and partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Mike Willis.

The webcast, to be shown at 14:00 – 16:00 GMT, will aim to illustrate how XBRL will affect businesses and how it is being implemented across the globe.

It also plans to explain why the US' Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pushing for the implementation of the language and how it may help companies become more efficient and save money.

Last month, website ABCMoney.co.uk claimed that the SEC was enhancing its reporting system through XBRL to allow for greater clarity on executive pay.
