Recruitment within the accountancy industry is expected to boom, as
the majority of employers predict growth this year, a survey has
shown.
The study, conducted by recruitment consultancy firm Badenoch &
Clark, found that 91 per cent of accountancy practitioners are
expecting business growth this year, Accountancy magazine
reports.
With more than a quarter of firms stating that they struggled to
retain staff in 2006, the study suggests that the fight to keep
employees on board is now greater than ever.
Nick Eaves, Badenoch & Clark's executive director, said that
the current situation was a "double-edged sword for
employers".
"While growth is welcome, it means the battle for talent is fiercer
than ever," he added.
The survey also found that the majority of employers believe that
pension schemes are the most favoured benefit for employees;
however, only 16 per cent of workers agreed.
Flexible working was the main benefit sought after, according to 38
per cent of employees.
Last month, recruitment experts told onrec.com that finding a job
online was now a well-established practice among finance
professionals.
