ACCA to collaborate with SII

A global partnership agreement has been signed between the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Securities and Investment Institute (SII).

As a result of the cooperation SII members will be able to sit ACCA exams, and those involved with ACCA will be offered special rates to become SII members.

The two organisations – representing close to 130,000 workers in the financial services industry – will now work together to offer the best support for their members.

Allen Blewitt, chief executive of ACCA, said of the deal: "We are very excited about the prospect of our two bodies working together."

"At a time when there is greater demand for transparency from investors and stakeholders, there is much we can achieve for the benefit of our members and for the public in whose interest they work," he added.

Both organisations also, separately, have commitments to working in the public interest, with SII a registered charity and ACCA helping governments and NGOs.
