The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has
teamed up with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to allow
dual membership of the two bodies.
Members of the ACCA who join the CII will be able to access support
on issues concerning financial services and insurance as part of
the recent agreement, reports FinancialDirector.co.uk.
In order to gain the benefits, ACCA members will need to pay a
subscription fee but at a reduced cost and in return be able to
attend workshops and learn online.
Clare Minchington, ACCA managing director of education, learning
and development, said: "Continuous professional development is very
important to us as a membership body and we work hard to ensure our
members are supported in their need to advance their professional
competence requirements."
She added that it was necessary for the association's members to
stay up-to-date with regard to regulation and this could be
facilitated through the new agreement.
The ACCA recently warned that accountants offering advice to the
public will soon require supervision from a regulatory body.
